South Park – Season 15 Episode 1: HUMANCENTiPAD

As South Park enters its fifteenth (yes, fifteen) season, can it still deliver on the shock and laughs?

Yes! Oh god yes!

Easily the strongest season opener the series has seen in a long time, HUMANCENTiPAD puts the ever-growing and privacy compromising Apple Inc. While it’s nothing new to toss insults Apple’s way (I know I’ve done more than my share), the guys focus most of their barbs towards the average Apple user.

Cartman’s segment focuses on Apple devices as a status symbol, namely the iPad. Not owning one is like branding someone with the scarlet letter of poverty. I won’t get into the details, but let’s just say that he takes it so far that Dr. Phil gets involved.

While Cartman desperately tries to obtain an iPad, Kyle finds himself in an awkward situation with the Apple company itself. Turns out that by not reading the terms and conditions on his iPad software, he has unwittingly agreed to take part in prototyping the company’s next product, the HUMANCENTiPAD. You only need to look at the top picture to figure out how well that went.

If this episode is a taste of what’s to come with this new season, then I say BRING IT ON!
