What the hell is this show?
The Red-Light Roundtable (RLR) is the official podcast for WatchPlayRead.com and have been in the Podcasting game for nearly two years. We’re a surly group of panelists who have opinions about every and anything media related, though we tend to be huge videogame nerds.
Who are the RLR panelists?
Starting from the left and working my way to the right, let me introduce the panel:
- Xopher Reed – the host and producer of RLR who rules the panel with an iron fist
- James Helsby – The LINKMASTA and all around great source of useless information…and bewbage.
- Ryan Wilson – an indie game fanatic and all around master of obscure media
- Evan Burkey – the world’s strongest Weeaboo
- Jermaine Pulliam – Apple product addict and video maker
When is the show recorded / posted? How often?
We record new episodes weekly, with no exceptions for holidays (unless a panel can’t be put together)! Late every Thursday the panel gets together over Skype to record the new episodes. Xopher then takes his lazy ass time editing, usually on a Sunday night in order to make the post deadline of Monday morning (generally before lunchtime) for your enjoyment.
What is discussed on the show?
ANYTHING GEEK, INTERNET, GAMING, TV, MOVIE, or MUSIC.
Gaming of course is our bread and butter considering there’s over 60 years of gaming experience between the four of us. We also enjoy talking Movies whether they be new releases, upcoming, or just what’s on Netflix or available for purchase. A few of us are also huge TV geeks so sometimes we spend some serious time discussing what we’ve been watching.
Beyond those three topics, you’ll hear us bring up all sorts of internet humor and naughty videos…such as puddingfarts. We try to keep the conversation light and try to have a good time recording the shows that you all love listening to.
Where do you guys live?
It’s a bit stalkerish, but some of you out there might find it neat to know that you live in the same state as a panelist, so I’ll let you know which state each of us are from, not cities…cause we don’t want to be tracked down that easily. Xopher is from Utah, James is from Utah as well, Ryan is from Utah too, Jermaine is from Florida, and Evan is from Oregon.
Why The Red-Light Roundtable as a show title?
There’s many reasons, but considering many of us are quite the media whores, and what district do you normally find such streetwalkers? The rest is pretty simple, with the amount of panelists we have, it’s easy to consider our discussions “roundtables”.

Listening is easy, we have a multitude of ways, easiest is the embedded player in the sidebar. We also have an episode player in each podcast post, and the sidebar player is another great place to catch the show.
