Dear readers of WatchPlayRead

So where have I been for the past 15 months?

Germany is a pretty cool place.

Germany is a pretty cool place.

Well, simply put, I went to University, and my focus in life changed. At least that’s half the reason. While there was a fresh influx of things that put my mind away from writing, I also just got sick of writing about video games and the fanbases, but if I was going to talk about that I wouldn’t finish this article. So what is an article by myself here on WatchPlayRead?

Myself and former WPR heartthrob and general lovely man Nik Mortimer. No I don't know what face I was meant to be pulling.

Some habits die hard and I’ve missed writing for a while. After taking a look back at my contribution to this website over the last half decade (most of it massively embarrassing to my now slightly older and wiser self), I had that itch to start contributing again. My main attentions are always going to be dedicated to running my student radio station and my radio show, but sometimes there isn’t the time or place to talk about some things during a new music focused programme. So here I am, with what will be a weekly article that doesn’t really have any main theme other than what media I’m particularly ingesting right now, written in that northern and English charm you’ve always loved.

There will probably be some amount of talk on new music and artists though.

So to reintroduce myself to anybody new, I’m Jamie Gibson. I used to write about video games and films for this website from 2008-2011 and now I’m a radio presenter and producer, broadcast student and I won an award for a four minute film about time travelling cops and robbers. Now I’m back once a week and hopefully you’ll enjoy what I’ve got to write about.

See you next Saturday.

Hearts and kisses,

Jamie Gibson
