Microsoft rewards their loyal

Microsoft rewards their loyal

Well, maybe rewards is the wrong word. Microsoft is going to rape you less, if you let them rape you. Yeah, that’s more like it.  Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade is currently in it’s 2nd week, with three more left to go. Splosion Man kicked things off, and Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 came out today, which […]

HOT – New Lost Planet 2 Screens

Thanks to the SDCC going on, all sorts of companies are starting to pimp their wares and all sorts of awesome screen shots and videos are starting to pour out over the internet. I just recently got these new screens of Lost Planet 2 from Capcom, and I can’t wait to see this game in […]

PC Exclusive Costumes Reveal a Familiar Outfit

PC Exclusive Costumes Reveal a Familiar Outfit

Resident Evil5 is being released on 18th September and to celebrate Capcom have released an image showing two PC exclusive costumes for the game.  Whilst I’m not entirely sold on Mad Max style outfit that Chris is wearing, I do like the costume that Sheva is wearing.  For those of you that don’t know she’s […]

Where’s The Game Going, Bingo? Resident Evil 4 On App Store Then Pulled

First off, the news about a mobile port of Resident Evil 4 isn’t new, (quite the contrary: we’ve known about a mobile version since 2007) but what we didn’t know was that it would end up on the iPhone, or at least it would for a brief time. According to the Japanese site Appbank (and […]

Gaming invades this years San Diego Comic Con

Gaming invades this years San Diego Comic Con

For years now the movie industry has been placing a greater emphasis on announcing some of their biggest properties at the San Diego Comic Con, it’s a great way for companies who want to get some reactions and generate some early hype for properties that are still a little way off.  The video games industry […]

Summer of the Dead – Resident Evil: Caliban Cove

Summer of the Dead – Resident Evil: Caliban Cove

I’ve never really been into the novelisations of games or films, normally I’d just assume that they had been written by some cheap hack author and then pumped out for as cheap as possible to make as much money as they can for whatever product they are tied too.  Being a massive Resident Evil fan […]

No one cares about your teaser site

No one cares about your teaser site

Today Capcom put up a teaser site for something or another, to be honest I really couldn’t give a shit. Teaser sites, in my opinion, are the worst fad that game developers have employed in recent years. Congratulations, you managed to create a web page with at very least a number or at the most […]

Sorry Fighting Game Fans…MvC2 in Late July

Sorry Fighting Game Fans…MvC2 in Late July

Yup, sad news for everyone who has been clamoring for this game to be released on XBLA/PSN. The release date that was stated from Marvel (June 29) isn’t actually when Capcom has as a release date, theirs looks more like ‘late July’ meaning anywhere from the 20th to the 31st. Oh well, that gives the […]

Summer Of The Dead: Resident Evil

Summer Of The Dead: Resident Evil

Resident Evil was an obvious choice for the first Summer of the Dead article, given my love of the series. I won’t ramble on so lets get straight to it. Resident Evil (Biohazard in Japan) was released in 1996, just when 3D gaming was really beginning to kick off. The story was simple enough and […]

Games That Defined Me — Bionic Commando

Games That Defined Me — Bionic Commando

I really have to thank Capcom for making this game and actually having the guts to localize it here in the US all the way back in 1988. Yes kids, this game came out 21 years ago, which makes the same game that’s chillin’ in my collection in my basement older than most of the […]

Not So Summer Drought

Not So Summer Drought

Usually summer time is a bad time for gaming. After a rush of games that seems to happens around Easter, the next few months is few and far between in terms of big titles or just half decent games. This year however seems to be different as there are quite a few titles coming out […]

Something to Chew on: Racism, Zombies, and the Mainstream Media

Something to Chew on: Racism, Zombies, and the Mainstream Media

I know I know, ‘not another racism commentary about RE 5’ is what you’re thinking, but I offer you what I hope to be a new perspective on the topic that will hopefully settle this discussion until the actual game itself makes up all of our minds for us.

You see, the game was designed by Capcom. Capcom is a Japanese company. I love Japan, even spent a year living there as an exchange student when I was 16 years old in a small city called Saga (near Fukuoka and Nagasaki). The post-war Japanese mentality is very progressive, both socially and technologically. They are open to all kinds of crazy shit, as can be seen through the countless video clips from their television shows, or from Katamari Damaci, depending on what you’re into. However, despite there open-mindedness and otherwise cheerful dispositions, the Japanese are not exactly the most multicultural of people out there. Hell, even other Asians visiting or living in Japan feel incredibly foreign. Perhaps as a consequence of this, or of something completely unrelated, the Japanese people aren’t exactly the most culturally… how to say, sensitive.

Fighting Masters – SNK Boss Syndrome

Fighting Masters – SNK Boss Syndrome

Welcome to a possibly new weekly feature if I have the will to do it – Fighting Masters. The title is taken from one of the shittiest fighting games I ever played on the Genesis. To kick this (possibly) weekly feature off, I’m going to start not with a fighting game, but with one character […]

The Dead ARE Rising Again: Dead Rising 2 Confirmed

The Dead ARE Rising Again: Dead Rising 2 Confirmed

Well, it looks like the “leaked” trailer we saw the other day was in fact the real deal. Capcom have today officially announced Dead Rising 2. The whole casino setting seems to be confirmed as one of the locations we’ll get to explore by all of the newly released screenshots. My interest is piqued, I […]
