SCIENCE! Guy Builds Most Awesome Lamp, EVER
I love…..lamp. Sadly, I can’t put this on my Fathers Day Gift list, because i’d have to home-brew it myself. Which means I’m going to have to steal one.
Nathan Bergey built and programmed the lamp detailing it HERE for us all to try and replicate (the CODE for it all is here). What does the lamp do? It shines whenever the International Space Station flies over your head way up there in orbit. Pretty cool huh? These are the times when I wish I had some kind of know-how to just build shit like this on my own, but alas, I’m not. Thankfully, we have guys like Nathan around to do all the legwork for us.
I had to totally agree with this part of what he said on the site:
The International Space Station (ISS) is a marvel of current technology and humanity. Sadly, we often forget it’s there. This light sits on a desk and lights up when the space station passes overhead. It stays lit as long as the station is more than 10 degrees above the horizon. Being reminded that there are astronauts doing science over our heads every day helps reconnect us with our space program.
