There’s no point in trying to hide it, I watched the crap out of Sailor Moon when I was a kid, and I’m sure most of you reading this did too… so it goes without saying that I’m ready to drop some cash for more fighting of evil by moonlight.

Kodansha Comics USA has announced that they are bringing the 2003 version of the Sailor Moon manga to the US. This version features some touched up artwork and an updated translation. Also, the original 18 volume series will be condensed down to 12. Kodansha is also bringing the so-far untranslated prequel, Codename: Sailor V, over to the US as well. Codename: Sailor V covers the origin story of Sailor Venus and Artemis. There is no official release date as of yet.

I’m totally stoked for these releases; like most American anime fans, Sailor Moon was one of my gateway drugs into anime, and I’ll definitely be checking these out. Will you?
