Ok, we missed a week. The streak is gone. Almost 2 years of doing a weekly show has been shattered…and it’s about damn time.
Apologies if you look forward to listening to the podcast each week, but there are times (especially around holidays) where it is fucking impossible to get panelists to show up. Hell, personally I think that we’re allowed this one pass with it being Thanksgiving and all. I had hoped to get a show recorded on Friday evening, but was unable to get any panelists lined up and the show is titled ’roundtable’ because you’re supposed to have multiple people talking on the show, not just one fat, sad, and hungy host doing all of the talking.
It really has been a long time coming and considering most of the panel’s situations (see below) I think a little leeway is necessary in the short term.
- Xopher – still dealing with having newborn twins and wacky graveshift hours.
- Ryan W. – moving to Utah from New York (tons of work if you’ve never uprooted yourself)
- Jermaine P. – dealing with his first child, a 3 week old, and also shitty graveshift hours.
- Rest of Panel – broken cellphones and/or gmail accounts.
I’m not making excuses here, just letting you know that when it comes to doing this show, I’m always gung-ho about doing it, but it complicates things when children, lack of sleep, spousal happiness, and Thanksgiving all mix together to form a Voltron of NOT HAPPENING THIS WEEK that cockblocks any attempt at getting regular content your way.
Do keep in mind that RLR came back around episode #23 because my oldest kid was of the age where she didn’t need to get up every 2-3 hours and was sleeping pretty regularly in her own bedroom.
I do feel bad that I don’t have ANY content for you this week, however I should let it be known that I’ve thought of scrapping RLR in general and giving it a rebirth as a new series. I tell you what, if you are reading this and are panicked about the potential fate of the show, please let it be known in a comment below or on Facebook. If I don’t receive any feedback at all, I’ll know that moving forward with a new show is the right decision. It would essentially be RLR under a new banner and with set show segments, but with a set in stone panel so I can avoid the weekly scramble to herd cats.
It’s up to you dear fan of our juvenile podcast, save RLR? or let it go in favor for something new?
