With the early launch of the newest PlayStation portable powerhouse only a day away, lets take a look at what to expect from the system.

3G service is provided by AT&T for the US release of the PlayStation Vita. Data plans are contract-free, so 3G/WiFi Vita owners can cancel at any time without fear of additional charges. The data plans are as follows:

250 MB/30 days: $14.99
3 GB/month: $30/30 days: $30.00

Vita models that support 3G will also be built in with GPS technology, which can be used to easily connect with friends nearby and accurately display location on social networks.

Backwards Compatibility

The PlayStation Vita will be backwards compatible with downloaded PS Minis, PS Suite, PSP, and PS1 Classic titles. It will not support physical PlayStation Portable UMDs.
