This week sees new manga releases from Kodansha Comics, Vertical Comics, and VIZ Media.

Master Keaton Volume 6 by Hokusei Katsushika and Takashi Nagasaki

Taichi Hiraga-Keaton, the son of a Japanese zoologist and an English noblewoman, is an insurance investigator known for his successful and unorthodox methods of investigation. Educated in archaeology and a former member of the SAS, Master Keaton uses his knowledge and combat training to uncover buried secrets, thwart would-be villains, and pursue the truth. Taichi dreams of someday being the archaeologist who excavates the Danube Valley Civilization. Reality doesn’t seem to be working in his favor, however, as being an insurance investigator keeps him busy and always in peril.

Now Yusuke must search his memories of the women in his life to discover the identity of his guardian angel. Will Yusuke be able to find the true identity of this woman and rekindle the flame of a past love or will this woman forever remain a mystery, lost to old memories?

Sakurai has been working with Y.K. Livingstone for a little over six months, so you would think he’d get the hang of things by now. However, his job — to clean and collect the physical form of the soul — comes with unique challenges that make things a little difficult. What’s worse, he’s been paired up with a partner who would rather play video games than work. Dealing with life and death can be heavy business, from witnessing the power of emotional attachment, working with local law enforcement, to questioning whether animals have souls, Sakurai definitely seems to have his work cut out for him.

My Neighbor Seki Volume 7 by Takuma Morishige

Seki Claus doesn’t care if you are naughty or nice, because he’ll be making a stop in his classroom to quietly make reindeer games. But if Rumi Yokoi gets her holiday wish he might get caught in the process.

Akira Tsubaki happens to fall hard for Mikoto Urabe, who just transferred into his class. This obsession eventually leads to Akira building up an extremely high fever. Urabe claims the cause is love sickness which only she can cure.

Paradise Residence Volume 1 by Kosuke Fujishima

Hatsune Takanashi is a girl of simple tastes. Curry and friends are among her favorite things, but more than anything, pudding is her true love in life. She’s begun her new high school life at Kitsuka Academy, an all-girl boarding school high atop a mountain, and is looking forward to making new friends and eating some great food. Hatsune is guaranteed to have new and exciting experiences, but with a grade-schooler house mother, a mean rival who uses fermented soybeans as her weapon of choice, and a foreign exchange student who doesn’t seem to understand how clothes work, her new school life is sure to be interesting.
