NBC Sends Wonder Woman Back to the Amazons
With Wonder Woman rejected by NBC after checking out the pilot, there is little hope for this show now, as back in January every other network ALREADY passed on the concept idea. It was a nice try, but this further cements the WPR stand that DC should just stick to animation movies for their characters… except Batman.
NBC seems to have picked up three other shows instead of Wonder Woman tonight: Grimm, the fantastical cop drama from Jim Kouf (Angel) and David Greenwalt (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) set in a world in which characters from Grimm’s fairy tales are real; The Playboy Club, a drama that centers on the opening of the first Playboy Club in Chicago in 1963; and Awake (formerly REM), a drama from Lone Star creator Kyle Kellen that follows the parallel lives of a detective who can’t let go of his fractured family after a car accident.
Since they are adding that Grimm show though, I’m guessing that is really bad news for the show I was totally gunning for seeing next year, 17th Precinct. Which was a Harry Potteresque crime drama from Battlestar Galactica‘s Ronald D. Moore that stars Jamie Bamber, James Callis, Tricia Helfer, Stockard Channing and Kristin Kreuk.
Damn you NBC, Playboy Club? *SIGH* You guys are morons.
