Following the sale of Harmonix, it seems MTV Games is closing down.

MTV Games has closed its doors following the sale of Harmonix, MCV can reveal.
The International office, which was headed up by UK industry veteran Roy Campbell, was closed on Wednesday.
Only a handful of financial staff remain in the New York office to collect or reconcile any outstanding receivables.

It always sucks when people lose their jobs for whatever reason. I can see how it would be kind of redundant to have MTV Games around after selling effectively the only reason to have the MTV name in the first place. It is really too bad. My favorite game on the PS1 was a game called “MTV Music Generator” and I spent hours and hours playing that game. It is too bad they couldn’t have made something work within the company to keep it’s doors open.
