Mortal Kombat’s fighters can be balanced without using a patch
Ed Boon has claimed he don’t need no stinkin’ patches to tweak fighters in the new Mortal Kombat. Before anyone says it, yes, I know it’s badges. Anyway, it looks like NetherRealm Studios has taken some preemptive measures to make sure any unforeseen balancing issues can be corrected without the need to download a patch.
How do they do this you ask? Boon states there are things called “dynamic updates” built into the game’s fighting system that allow room for tweaking and meddling. I’m not sure exactly how it works without getting the internet too involved with its downloads and whatnot. Ed Boon wasn’t very specific with his details on how it works, or really anything that useful, but it is cool to hear about developers doing things like this. As far as we know, it’s magic. Technology!
