Morning Cup o’ Music

Well it may not be industrial, but you’ll have to admit that even you were a fan of this song when it came out in the mid-90s. Yep, following the heels of the grunge scene, we saw an increase in the heroin-chic bands that shared not only industrial music beats, but college radio guitars as well.

Much like a failed version of Stone Temple Pilots, Sponge came on the scene rather late in the game and were poised to become one of my favorite bands of all time when they launched their awesome album Rotting Pinata. Today’s track, “Plowed”, is their most popular song from the album…besides “Molly” which I might just have to play for you all tomorrow. I can still remember how much airplay this song received on MTV and my local radio station. I still do enjoy this band and this album, but when they came out with their less than favorable second album, Wax Ecstatic, they kind of fell off the face of the Earth for me.
