Microsoft Hyping Up a Big Xbox Announcement
No, Pizza Hut was yesterday.People have been speculating about the successor to the Xbox 360, codenamed Project Durango, for what seems like years now. Every time another rumor pops up that Microsoft is going to announce the next system, they have quickly shut it down. Only this time, Microsoft is the one providing the hype fuel.
On Tuesday, May 21st at 10am PST (an agonizing 26 days from the time of this posting), Microsoft will be holding a press event at their Redmond, Washington building to, as Xbox Live Director of Programming Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb puts it, “mark the beginning of a new generation of games, TV, and entertainment.” Either they’re planning to announce their entry in the “next-generation” console lineup, or setting us up for the trolling of a century.
Microsoft will be streaming the event globally via Xbox.com and Xbox Live, but North Americans with Spike TV can watch the events unfold there as well.
