Microsoft has 10 Million Reasons to be Happy

Sales of the Xbox 360’s hands-free motion control sensor Kinect have topped, you guessed it, 10 million.

Because of the sales generated by Kinect, it apparently made the Guinness World Records book as the fastest-selling consumer electronics device. Yep, they top the releases of the Apples iPhone and iPad for the same time frames after launch. To throw even more money into the MS pile, they announced that they sold more than 10 million standalone Kinect games. I’m glad I’ve held out on even trying this device, which I still think is a bad gimmick, maybe in a couple of years when the true potential of the device can be really made I’ll buy.

Until then, I’m going against the apparent crowd and holding of on getting a Kinect.
