Following hot on the heels of the trailer that was released last week, we now have a better idea of what we should expect from the Madhouse animators who put this new series together.
They’ve recently added a whole slew of new information on their blog, including bios and pictures of the main characters that will be making up the show when it releases on April 1st in Japan.
The funniest thing about the piece at the top of the article is the obvious “for the Japanese” character they chose to include with the series…Hisako Ichiki. Her text says that she’s “nihonjin shoujo chuugakusei myuutanto” which translates to Mutant Japanese Middle School (Jr. High) Girl.
Interesting enough, the character for Hisako has Joss Whedon to thank for being created as he did so in his early 2000s run of Astonishing X-Men. I just find it really funny that they’ve made her MUCH younger than she appeared in the comics.
I laugh because Wolverine will forever be known to me as “Uruvarin” now thanks to the way they spelled it in katakana. Moonspeak is a fun language deshou ne?
