Man of Steel: Is It Worth Your Money?
Well, this one is complicated. Let’s face it, people say stupid things like “people are either going to love it or hate it.” This is not one of those Movies; at least not for me. I didn’t love Man of Steel, but I didn’t absolutely hate it. I guess I’m just… torn.
Man of Steel
Starring: Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Michael Shannon (General Zod)
Directed by: Zack Snyder
Release date: June 14th, 2013
Here are the pros:
- It was fun, the CGI was good, the action was exciting, the fight scenes were well done. Hmmmmm. Ok…
- Did you ever see John Carpenter’s “They Live?” You remember the scene where Roddy Piper and Keith David fight for five minutes and twenty seconds? Well, that was awesome right? Would it be as awesome that happened like fifteen times? You see what I’m getting at here? They even made Jor-El a bad ass which just felt wrong. There really wasn’t much substance to the movie, and what substance there was, was tacky. Like soap opera drama tacky. There was a time during the screening that I actually imagined Crow, Tom Servo, and Mike in the front row of the theater making wise cracks.
So, as you can see, the cons are outweighing the pros. So why am I torn? Maybe it’s because this is the best Superman movie made in the last thirty years. Also, it was pretty fun to watch at times. Also I’d like to say one thing about Zach Snyder: Since when did we need another Michael Bay in the world? I mean, why would we need two dicks ruining our childhood memories with explosions and CGI?
I’m just going to leave it at this and make it simple for you.
If you are going to watch this, see it in theaters, and one with a big screen at that. If you wait to watch it at home you’re gonna be disappointed I think.
