Luc Besson Gives Us More of The Transporter

What Jason Statham movie series has just been ordered by one of the most salacious channels on cable? Oh you know…because you saw the headline after all.

That’s right! Luc Besson, best known for huge hits like The Fifth Element and Leon: The Professional, will be reprising his role as writer and producer for the new series based on The Transporter movies on Cinemax.

This is Besson’s first foray into the television arena, but have no fear since each episode of the new series will be budgeted approximately $4 million dollars, meaning that we’ll have some great special effects on a cable show. While they may not have the budget for some of the stuff we’ve seen in the films, I’m certain that the show will be fairly decent.

Best of all, this gives me an excuse to talk to my wife about ordering Cinemax without her being told about what happens to the channel in its late hours where many of us refer to it as “Skinemax”.
