Killzone 3 Helghast Edition Reminds Me of Something…

I can’t, in all good conscience, talk as much shit as I’d like to about the $130 special “Helghast Edition” of Killzone 3 because I’ve been here before and if I remember right. I think I paid as much, if not more for some other title that had the number 3 in it…

Yeah, I was one of the suckers that paid full price for the ‘cat helmet’ edition of Halo 3, which really only had the helmet replica in it. Not any of the cool stuff that will be included with this edition. Much of it is pretty pointless and I’m not a fan of the voucher system for soundtracks and such, but I guess some people will love it with all of their hearts.

The special edition will include an authentic Helghast helmet which contains the art book, game, and ‘super voucher’, a not for retail Cloaking Helghast Marksman 6.5″ action figure, and a behind-the-scenes video.

The super voucher will enable you to get the Killzone 3 soundtrack and theme, a map pack which brings back some of the most popular maps from Killzone 2’s multiplayer, and will allow you to accrue XP at 2x and access to all abilities and weapons during the first 24 hours of multiplayer.

So far the release date set by Sony says we can expect this title to be here sometime near or on February 22nd. Let’s hope they keep that date firm.
