We talked about it earlier this week, but we’ve just today learned that it’s true. Iron Man 3 will NOT be directed by WPR favorite Jon Favreau. Strangely enough it seems amicable.

According to Hero Complex, Favreau will be too busy directing upcoming movie Magic Kingdom (yes, based on Disneyland) to do Iron Man 3. In the interview with Mr. Favreau he also mentioned his time with Marvel Studios and how it’s not a bad thing really:

“Marvel and I both came of age together. The years that we shared were a pivotal experience. Kevin has a firm grasp on the many franchises and how they all interweave and I am happy that I had the opportunity to establish the world that these characters can now play in…. ‘Iron Man’ has given me tremendous opportunities and Kevin and I are enjoying a lot of momentum in our careers thanks to the ‘Iron Man’ films. I look forward to seeing what others can do playing in the same world.”

I don’t know about you guys, but the Iron Man movies just might have just lost a bit of what made them cool. I realize without Tony Stark the movie would be nothing, but what’s the movie going to be like without Happy Hogan?
