In a recent interview, the star of Tron Legacy and True Grit talks about a potential sequel to the much ignored 1984 classic John Carpenter movie, Starman.

I don’t know how many of you caught this hidden gem of the movie industry, but I thoroughly enjoyed seeing this movie when I was younger and again a few months ago on Netflix. If you need a bit of a catch-up, it was the story of an alien life form visiting Earth thanks to the message included on one of the Voyager spacecraft and takes the form of the dead husband to the movie’s heroine. He needs to escape the planet before the Gubment catches him and dissects him. Along the way to the pickup point, Jeff Bridges makes us see ourselves in a mirror, much like how Kevin Spacey did in K-PAX (another Bridges movie).

Admittedly, there wasn’t a ton of solid evidence toward a real sequel coming, but he did have questions that he wanted answered from the first film. I just think it’s funny that he conveniently ignored the fact that there was a television series based on the movie that lasted only one season. I think many of us ignore the existence of TV series based on movies. Anyways, go here to read the interview where he dropped the hint of there being some interest in a sequel.

In the meantime, go watch the film it’s a pretty good flick.
