Iwata Calls Apple Their “Enemy of the Future”

If I had my way Apple, I'd have all of ya shot!

It’s no secret that Apple is hoping to take the piss out of Nintendo’s choke-hold on the portable gaming industry, and with devices like the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch having apps that rival many of the games you get on the Nintendo DS, they have good reason to be concerned.

I won’t lie, anyone who follows much of what I write on this blog should already know that I’m a fan of Apple’s consumer electronics, though not a huge fan of their computers. I’ve tried my best to enjoy the Nintendo DS, but I’ve gotten so much more enjoyment out of my iPhone’s games compared to the DS’s…and at a fraction of the cost.

But to get back to the story at hand, in a article at the Times Online, Nintendo’s president, Satoru Iwata apparently told a gaggle of his most senior execs at the company that Nintendo should start treating Apple as their “enemy of the future” and that the company should consider it’s battle with Sony as a victory in Nintendo’s favor.

I don’t know about the rest of you guys, but I’m way past loving Nintendo. I’ll just continue to buy their 1st party games like so many other gamers have been doing with the Wii and the GameCube before it.
