A lot of us here at WPR really love music. We go to concerts and get cool vinyls all the time. While many of you already know about events like Free Comic Day at independent comic book stores, something you may not know about is Record Store Day.

Record Store Day this year falls on April 16th. Which is typical, it is usually right around Tax day here in the United States. What is Record Store Day you ask? Well, for all of you audiophiles who love to go search through your local record store for cool vinyl or used cds this is basically the best day of the year. Many record stores across the country participate in Record Store Day, as well as many labels and artists put out unique offerings that you can only get at participating record stores.

The last Record Store Day, my girlfriend picked me up a copy of a Gaslight Anthem 7″ that was limited and featured 2 songs not available anywhere else. Not to mention there were some really amazing deals on CDs and other wares that these kinds of stores hawk these days. I’ll be sure to head on over to my local record store (the Graywhale in Orem, UT) on April 16th.
