Is Something Growing Inside You? The Trailer For ABSENCE Is Here
There’s a little know sub-genre of horror that is based on tokophobia. Tokophobia is the fear of pregnancy. Not just getting pregnant but the trouble that can come with a pregnancy. Some horror movies that have touched on tokophobia have been:
Rosemary’s Baby
The Omen
It’s Alive
Inside
Eraserhead
Alien
Xtro
I could go on forever but you get the idea, right? The idea of something growing inside of you can be seriously scary. There’s some internet buzz over a new trailer that follows the legacy of the above films. While I certainly like the idea, and enjoy all the above films, I must say this trailer looks awful, but this is what’s popular in horror right now.
Absence is a “found footage” movie that revolves around a woman who looses her child during pregnancy. She apparently has no memory of the incident and thinks going camping is going to refresh her memory (heh!) Either way this movie looks awful! Watch the trail regardless, I may have just become bitter in my old age.
