Yeah, this came out a couple of weeks ago, but I’m playing catch up with my hold.

Alright, Leia has her top secret group of pilots, which include Luke and Wedge, obviously. The two start off the comic completely destroying what looked like a giant platoon of Tie-Fighters by themselves. Turns out, it was just a simulation. Honestly, I kinda wish there had been more of this stuff in the original movies, but time restraints and such. Brain Wood has done a great job writing Star Wars for right now, hopefully they can convince Disney to let the run go for a while before everything is transferred to Marvel Comics. Who I’m sure are salivating at Wolverine/Darth Vader crossover.

Anyways, Leia’s group not only is super secret, but gets some top-notch fighters for them also. Their task is to find a new Rebel base, which we all know what it will eventually be on Hoth, but I’m very interested to see how it’s going to come about according to Brian Wood.

One of the other side stories is Chewbaca and Han Solo on a mission, with a giant pile of credits to spend. That…can’t end well. Ok, it can end AWESOME, but probably not well for whoever is up against Solo and Chewbaca.

So far, two comics in, i’m starting to feel the hooks sinking in and pulling me into reading every issue. I normally never stray into Star Wars beyond the movies, but this isn’t some fan-fiction (Unless Brian Wood’s been duping us all along) it’s adding to the story leading up to Empire Strikes Back. Honestly, I’m just fine if the Empire doesn’t strike back and this comic gets a nice long run.
