Fringe Pulls a Boner

Walter Bishop, is sooooo fucking baller on this show, he put a party hat on a cow!

Fox Broadcasting, in all of its super-intelligent glory made a horrible mistake when airing an episode of Fringe a week or so ago…I just didn’t realize it until I started clearing off my DVR last night. They aired a never before seen episode of Fringe from season one, right in the middle of the second season!

Well, you might think that this isn’t such a big deal…but fans of the show and of any type of sci-fi on Fox can recall when they did the same type of episode swapping when Firefly was still on the air. The episode in question, “Unearthed” was to be the first episode of the new year, breaking a month-long hiatus during the holidays. I am thankful that it was a one-off episode that didn’t have anything to do with the ZFT or the Shapeshifting army.

“What’s the problem then?” you might ask.

It’s simple really. People who watch the show with any regularity are aware that this season, Olivia’s long time partner and confidant Charlie Francis (Kirk Acevedo) was killed and identity stolen by one of the Shapeshifters in an attempt to find out what Olivia can remember from her visit to William Bell and the alternate reality. So on episode 11 that I started up the 2010 season, about 10 minutes into the episode we see Olivia and Charlie having a conversation at the federal building that serves as their HQ!

Boo Hoo, I'm dead this season, yet they bring me back for an episode...

Both my wife and I looked at each other and exchanged a complete WTF moment before hopping on the googles to find an answer. Once I realized it was an episode from season one…I just stopped it where it was and deleted it out of sheer aggravation.

That was so ‘not-cool’ of you Fox. You should be ashamed of yourself.
