First Draft of Star Trek 3 Complete
Roberto Orci has relayed to the geek-o-sphere via TrekMovie.com that the first draft for the newest in the line of rebooted Star Trek movies has been completed. Now that we’re beyond Khan, let’s hope we don’t see too much overlap with previous movies, however seeing the crew of the Enterprise attempt a remake at the best Trek movie ever Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country would be fun, but I’m just completly speculating at this point.
We don’t know where we will see the intrepid crew of Starfleet’s most awesome vessel will go next, but here’s what we do know. The movie will be directed by Orci not Abrams who will be entirely too busy with Star Wars Episode VII (but will still get a producer credit), and Alex Kurtzman will not be aboard either. It is said that the new film will be set in deep space with a not yet mentioned crisis being the crux of the story.
I don’t care if the decided to just remake all of the movies in the original run, they’ve already got my money as I have enjoyed each of the reboots even with their gaping plotholes…c’mon Simon Pegg as Scotty!
Star Trek 3 (tentatively titled) is set to arrive sometime in 2016 to coincide with the series’ 50th anniversary.
