The producer for the current generation of Final Fantasy games, Tetsuya Nomura, has let it loose that the ‘concurrent-quel’ for Final Fantasy XIII (not in the same universe) will actually feature some of the best features of the original Final Fantasy games that we all know and love.
Those that have been bitching about the linearity of the current game that most of us PS3 whores are playing and loving will finally get a bit of STFU please when Square Enix releases Final Fantasy Versus XIII sometime in the future (knowing how Squeenix has been taking their time with games, 2015).
This comes from an interview Square was having with Tetsuya Nomura on Twitter, where he simply stated:
“[In FFVXIII] not everything is connected together, so the various areas have different levels of progress. However, you can fly across the world map in an air ship.”
I personally don’t mind the world maps that we currently have in FFXIII, I find myself looking around and occasionally having to pick my jaw up from the floor thanks to the great graphics the game is producing on my TV. I won’t mind the jump back to ananchronistic game elements from the earlier games in the series…at least you won’t hear me bitch about it like I’ve been hearing all across the interwebs.
