If you follow Kelly Sue DeConnick (writer for the current Captain Marvel comic,  Pretty Deadly, Avengers Assemble, and Ghost) on Tumblr, you’ve heard her give little teasers about a special something something going on at Emerald City Comic Convention this year. Danging that carrot plump with secrets over our heads for what seemed like forever, well friends it’s time to feast. The announcement has been made and let me tell you it’s pretty spectacular. An official Carol Corps Celebration event with Kelly Sue DeConnick, G. Willow Wilson, and Christopher Sebela at the Museum of Flight in Seattle.

Right? Right?! OK now I know we’re all beyond excited about hanging our with these amazing people, but serious face for a second. While this event is hosted by the Emerald City Comic Convention, convention tickets do not give you entry into this spectacular event, nor are you required to have a ECCC pass to buy tickets. Which you can buy here. The event is the Thursday before the convention and while you may need to take an extra day off from the everyday grind, it will be so worth it. This event is a celebration for the wonder that is the Carol Corps and the new Ms. Marvel comic release. A more casual and low key event to see G. Willow Wilson  (new Ms. Marvel comic,The Unexpected, All New Marvel Now! Point One, and Mystic), and Christopher Sebela( Captain Marvel, High Crimes, Ghost and Fantastic Four) along with of course the Carol Corps “Leader”, Kelly Sue DeConnick.

Light hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and beverages (Cash bar for those of us 21+) will be provided as well as all day acsess to the Museum of Flight! This is an amazing opportunity for getting a little more face time with these wonderful writers than you might have at the convention. Plus it’s all for a fantastic cause! All proceeds for this event will be donated to the Girls Leadership Institute.  Fan enthusiasm is strongly encouraged so add those finishing touches to your cosplay (March is just around the corner!) and don’t miss out on this sure to be fabulous event!
