Eastwood Goes Supernatural in Hereafter
There’s no denying that Clint Eastwood has talent as a director. I’m hard pressed to think of a movie of his in the past 5+ years that he helmed that I didn’t like. For the most part, all of his movies have been somewhat grounded in reality and real-life issues contained therein, but it looks like he wants to take his works to the fringe in the new movie Hereafter.
The official synopsis for the movie:
“Hereafter” tells the story of three people who are touched by death in different ways. George (Matt Damon) is a blue-collar American who has a special connection to the afterlife. On the other side of the world, Marie (Cecile De France), a French journalist, has a near-death experience that shakes her reality. And when Marcus, a London schoolboy, loses the person closest to him, he desperately needs answers. Each on a path in search of the truth, their lives will intersect, forever changed by what they believe might—or must—exist in the hereafter.
The trailer has me thinking that this could be one hell of a subject matter for Dirty Harry to cover, and his inclusion of Matt Damon has me excited (I <3 Matt Damon, even with the Team America jokes) to see how everything will turn out. We'll have more as it comes along, but there hasn't been a firm release date for movie yet, you'll know soon we do.
