DO WANT! Futurama Might Return As A Full-Time Series
Yes, it’s true. One of the best, and definitely the most underrated “animated sitcom” of our time, Futurama, just might be coming back. Before your dick gets too big, there’s no definitive word that it will return, just speculation. David X. Cohen, the man responsible for Futurama, along with Matt Groening, recently did an interview with SCI FI Wire where he gave us this new found hope.
“Now, what the chances are [of coming back], I have no idea, the hard facts would seem to support us coming back again. From what we have heard, the DVDs have sold very well, and I have heard the phrase ‘greatly exceeded’ 20th Century Fox’s expectations. So that’s got to be a good sign, you would think.”
Man, what I wouldn’t give to have this show back on the air every week. The DVDs are great and all, but they just can’t scratch that weekly itch. Speaking of the DVDs, if you haven’t already, you should go out and buy the first two, Bender’s Big Score and The Beast With a Billion Backs, buy Bender’s Game when it comes out on November 4, and, buy Into the Wild Green Yonder when it comes out next spring. If you don’t, we’re not going to get new Futurama, and that makes you an asshole in my book. Besides, Hypnotoad demands it.
