According to a report via Mananation’s twitter account, a judge in Florida ran with one of the brand new event decks and won a Grand Prix trial event.

From what I understand the tournament had a low turnout, but it is still an impressive feat nonetheless. I think this proves that sometimes (well, a lot of the time) actual play skill means a lot more to these games than people think. Now, I don’t think the guy could pull off this kind of feat if it were a bigger tournament (reports say that there were only about 15 to 20 players in the event). But anytime you win with a preconstructed deck at any kind of tournament level, I get a smile on my face.

I should also mention he won with the Blue – Black “Infect and Defile”, which of the two is selling for about 5 dollars less from the major retailers.
