We all know the marketing giant, that is Disney. They know how to bait the consumer – us – and reel us in with words like: New, Bonus footage, Never before released, Exclusive, etc. Come on, they’ve done it for years.
So, what do they do when a well frosted piece of birthday cake, like Star Wars, comes along with its rich history of goodness? Add more frosting to the cake.
Enter, our piece of cake: Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion
Just about a month ago, Disney premiered the pilot for its *newest animated television series, and the party started. Spark of Rebellion was been seen by millions of viewers the world over, and the actual season hadn’t even started yet.
About a week later, it was announced that the one hour special will air on ABC on Sunday, October 26 (7:00 p.m. ET/PT). Dave Filoni (Executive Producer) added a special treat for fans – the frosting:
“We wanted to do something special for the ABC broadcast. We’ve added a scene which gives audiences insight into the Inquisitor and includes a cameo by Darth Vader voiced by the distinguished actor James Earl Jones.” – via StarWars.com
The Inquisitor, from initial information provided, has been charged with hunting down any remaining Jedi and eliminating them. He makes a brief appearance at the end of the of special, when Agent Kallus, of the Imperial Security Bureau, informs him of the discovery of a Jedi, Kanan Jarrus. As Filoni indicates, the additional scene should provide insight into the mysterious hunter and his employment in the Empire. The teaser for the special, shows a conversation between a holographic image of Vader and the Inquisitor.
Gather the family around the television on Sunday evening and soak it in – a special appearance of the Dark Lord. If you’ve seen it, it’s worth every minute to watch it again. If you haven’t, there will be no better time.
