Comic Review – STAR WARS: AGENT OF THE EMPIRE #1 (Stéphane Roux cover) – Review
The name’s Cross. Jahan Cross. Move over, James Bond; there’s a new secret agent in the galaxy, and he has the weight of the Empire behind him!
Cross’s mission takes him and his assistant IN-GA 44 to the affluent Corporate Sector. There, on the trail of stolen droid technology, they will rub elbows with diplomats and desperadoes, captains of industry and sergeants of the local police–and rub most of them the wrong way!
So after reading this I thought to myself, James Bond CROSS Star Wars!!! I was in heaven!
Moving past my hyperventilation over this comic, I was able to read it.
The writer John Ostrander as some of you may remember from Star Wars: Legacy series and Star Wars: Republic series is back and writing one hell of a story. So we all figured in the Star Wars universe there would be spy’s, like Jame Bond. From the moment you start reading it, you will be engulfed by the story. It’s strong, funny and keeps you on your toes the whole way through. You see he doesn’t hold back, straight away he jumps head first into the plot, for me this is something I love, I prefer hearing about someone throughout the story not just jam it down your throat at the beginning.
The art is as good as you can expect for a Star Wars comic. Dark in most places, but there are always scenes or characters that will stand out more than the others.
Now as you can see from the Stéphane Roux cover you can see Han Solo and the famous walking carpet, Chewbacca. Makes you wonder what they have to do with the story and if they will be in other issues.
They ended issue 1 on a good note, a lot happened but there’s still heaps of room for more story. I finished reading it and wanted to read the next issue, I don’t want to wait till January for it.
Now all up I would have to say for any die hard Star Wars fan, go out and buy it! For any other form of fans I say go out and buy it! This is really a good story and the art is something you can admire.
This comic will be available everywhere December 14th.
