This week we attempt to fill the void, that was left with Chad leaving us, with Kristen Bell, DeLoreans, and Will Ferrell’s peace giving aura.
This week is Chad’s last week with us. To send him off we cover a movie with a creepy man that likes to BLANK himself in public, a movie where yet again a dork is some how married to a really hot chick, and last but not least…a movie that makes some people’s brains bleed, […]
You know a Justice League animated movie is more than a little different when in the first 6 minutes two people get shot in the face, one covering a main character’s face in weird maroon colored blood. This is the odd duck that is Justice League: The New Frontier.
After last issue’s big battle, Irredeemable #16 takes quite a turn. This issue of Irredeemable is a series of vignettes. Mostly quiet moments, though a couple are violent, in the lives of the characters. This is my favorite issue of Irredeemable lately.
Aiden reviews the Chris Nolan masterpiece.
Codebreakers #4 is the final issue in this miniseries by BOOM!. As you may guess from the title, the story revolves around analysts for the CIA. They are not all number crunchers though, and that helps make this geeks as heroes titles more interesting.
Okay let’s the disclaimer out of the way first. I’ve been reading comics for more than a few years now, but for some reason I’ve never gotten around to picking up Hellboy. It’s not because I didn’t like the concept or the idea of the story, I just never really found the time. So, when […]
You should be aware, if you were wondering like me, that the title to this book has nothing to do with Area 51 and aliens. Instead, this Vertigo Crime novel’s title, Area 10, refers to an area of the brain often the target for trepanning. On a sliding scale of unreality, this crime story is […]
I was dubious about this comic at first: Was it merely a pretender riding the coattails of the successful Irredeemable? It was, after all, advertised as the reverse story of Irredeemable: The villain is now the hero. However, seven issues in, I find myself liking Incorruptible more than Irredeemable for another area where they are […]
In my mailbox this week: Push Release Year: 2009 Staring: Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning Somehow, I think, Push, was one of those movies that slipped through the cracks. I remember (vaguely) that it was in the theaters, but not too much else. I think it might have been blurred in with, and confused with, the […]
Jamie Gibson takes a look at the first episode of the Doctor Who Adventure Games
Ok, so a main character did play a planet eating robot later, but get off my back! A classic noir piece from 1949 directed by Carol Reed, The Third Man stars Joseph Cotton, Orson Welles, Valli, and Trevor Howard, with a smaller role for Bernard Lee, the man most of us remember best as M […]
Sergei Eisenstein’s great film Ivan the Terrible demands as much from it’s viewers as it did it’s creators. That’s why I can’t and won’t mention a food that perfectly complements the film, because it doesn’t leave a lot of room for food. However, I can recommend a beverage, like a dark, Russian ale that you […]
One collected edition of note is I Kill Giants by Joe Kelly and JM Ken Niimura. In 2008, it was awarded “Best Indy Book of 2008” by IGN. Dan Kois (New York Magazine) put it in his top ten comics list for 2009. The Young Adult Library Services Association named it one of 2010’s “top […]
Originally, I wasn’t going to review Ultimate Iron Man: Armor Wars. The hardcover collected edition of the four issue mini-series came out in the middle of April. I wasn’t going to review it because after reading it, Armor Wars slipped from my mind fairly quickly. What’s that you say? A book by Warren Ellis did […]
