You can hate this series all you want you damn movie Geeksters, the fact it made over 2 BILLION dollars tells me that you’re in the minority. Regardless of your cleft a**hole, I wait for Avatar 2 and 3 like a Star Wars nerd waits for Lucas to make a unedited edition of his films.

What can I say, I for the most part, enjoy just about every movie that James Cameron makes…even Titanic. Let’s not forget that he’s improved many films in their sequels, just look at Terminator 2 AND Aliens.

In his latest interview on ABC’s Nightline program, he spills the beans about Avatar 2 and 3.

The first of the sequels is set to arrive sometime in December 2014 and will feature more of Pandora’s natural beauty, except this time around more ocean than rainforest. From the interview regarding the writing and the oceans.

I’m really writing the second and third films together, so it complete s a kinda three film story arc. And we will see the oceans of Pandora, which we haven’t seen at all and that’s an ecosystem that I’m dying to start designing because it’s going to look spectacular.

There will be other planets as well, besides Pandora. It will be a cornucopia, a treat for the eyes.

For those of you who might be concerned about the overall message and the penchant for Cameron to shove it down your throat, don’t worry. It seems he’s heard you all and will be filming to entertain you.

I’m not going to become more strident. I’m not going to say, “well, we got away with this much environmental content in the first movie, now there’s double.” Because I think that would be a mistake. It has to be entertainment first and foremost.
