Decrease Font Size Increase Font Size Text Size Print This Page

Today’s Box Office Report brings us a very slow weekend, and the Guardians of the Galaxy continuing their reign on top of the box.  Followed again by adolescent turtles, and romantic comedy If I Stay.  Newcomer As Above/So Below managed to catch the fourth position, just beating out Let’s Be Cops.  The November man opened just shy of $8 million after picking up about $1.5 with an early release.  All in all the box office is limping along until an unexpected gem opens or the holiday films begin to show up.

New in Theatres

Dolphin Tale 2

It has been several years since young Sawyer Nelson and the dedicated team at the Clearwater Marine Hospital, headed by Dr. Clay Haskett, rescued Winter. With the help of Dr. Cameron McCarthy, who developed a unique prosthetic tail for the injured dolphin, they were able to save her life. Yet their fight is not over. Winter’s surrogate mother has passed away, leaving Winter without the only poolmate she has ever known. However, the loss of Panama may have even greater repercussions for Winter, who, according to USDA regulations, cannot be housed alone, as dolphins’ social behavior requires them to be paired with other dolphins. The team must find a companion for her before Clearwater loses their beloved Winter to another aquarium.

No Good Deed (2014)

Terri, a devoted wife and mother of two, lives an ideal life that takes a dramatic turn when her home and children are threatened by Colin, a charming stranger who smooth-talks his way into her house, claiming car trouble. The unexpected invitation leaves her and her family terrorized and fighting for survival.

The Drop

This film takes an inside look at organized crime’s use of local New York City bars as money-laundering ‘drops’. When lonely Brooklyn bartender Bob Saginowski uncovers a drop of a different sort in the form of a battered pit bull puppy that he rescues from certain death, he comes into contact with Nadia, a mysterious woman hiding a dark past.

The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby

One couple’s story as they try to reclaim the life and love they once knew and pick up the pieces of a past that may be too far gone.
