Box Office Report July 7th

Decrease Font Size Increase Font Size Text Size Print This Page

This week’s Box Office Report is wholly unremarkable.  New films Tammy, Deliver Us From Evil, and Earth to Echo made very little noise at the ticket booth.  Even second week number one film Transformers: Age of Extinction barely grossed over $37 million.  The biggest drop in ranking game from Think Like a Man Too, which fell from 4th to 9th.  This may be the result of a very mild holiday weekend.  It is expected that next weekend’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will unseat Transformers and breath new life into the summer box office.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
