“Billy the Kid’s Old Timey Oddities and the Ghastly Fiend of London” written by Eric Powell and art by Kyle Hotz.

Billy and Sproule’s Biological Curiosities have come to London at the request of John Merrick, to stop Jack the Ripper. The previous issue ended with Billy being arrested as the ripper. This issue opens with several “Ripper” murders. Sproule’s gang continues to investigate while Billy escapes from jail with a two faced man(literally). The issue ends with the ripper being revealed, but if you want to know who you’ll have to read it!

I love Powell’s writing style and Hotz’s art is an excellent fit. Hotz’s has an excellent splash page of dead prostitutes that manages to be disturbing and funny at the same time. As I was casually going over it, the picture made me think of Dead Hooker jokes (my favorites are “What’s the difference between your job and a Dead Hooker? Your job still sucks!” and “What did the Blind, Deaf, and Dumb Hooker get for Christmas? Cancer!” (what are yours?)

If you are not reading this book you are missing out. This is issue 2 of 4 so it’s not too late to catch up. This book sells for three hundred and ninety-nine pennies.
