BEST. NEWS. EVER.

Atlus has slammed us with some sexy news in the latest issue of Famitsu: Persona 4 is getting a PSP Vita remake, Persona 5 is in development, and Arc System Works (of Guilty Gear and Blazblue fame) is making a 2d fighting sequel to Persona 4. It’s ok, take a minute to catch your breath.

Now time for the sparse but delicious details: Persona 4‘s re-release, titled Persona 4 The Golden will have a new character named Mary, reworked animations, and “wireless support for calling on others to help you when you’re about to die in a dungeon”… whatever that means.

Persona 5 will feature all the main developers from Persona 4, including director Katsura Hasino, character designer Shigenori Soejima, and composer Shouji Meguro.

And last but most certainly not least, Arc System Works’ Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena will be released in arcades in Spring 2012 and consoles in Summer 2012. The game will take place 2 years after the story of Persona 4, and will be released on both Xbox 360 and PS3. Though there are no specifics on a US release, Arc would have to be idiotic not to release here due to the popularity of the Persona series.

There’s not much more information, all I can say is that I’m fracking excited and, once again, will be letting Atlus take all of my money.
