Guilty Gear fans rejoice.

After Sammy Studios acquired Sega back in 2004, it left Arc System Works, the developer of the Guilty Gear series, in a difficult position. Unfortunately for Arc System Works and fans of the Guilty Gear franchise, Sammy owned the rights to the series and transferred it over to the newly formed Sega Sammy Holdings. From there, Guilty Gear was cast into legal red tape limbo.

Now, it seems that Arc System Works have finally bought back the full rights to Guilty Gear, in accordance with a promise from creator, Daisuke Ishiwatari, that a new Guilty Gear would come “eventually.” This is exciting news, especially after seeing what Arc System works has been able to do on current gen consoles with the incredible BlazBlue series. I for one can’t wait to get back behind the wheel of one of my favorite fighting game characters of all time… Faust! Anyone else hotly anticipating a new Guilty Gear?
