Alien: Isolation Is Coming This Year
Are we finally going to get a good Alien game?
For years game developers have tried and failed to recreate the magic of the Alien universe for our playing enjoyment, leaving fans with little hope they’d ever get their opportunity to come face to face with a truly terrifying Xenomorph. That might soon be changing. This week Sega officially announced that Alien: Isolation will be coming to most gaming systems later this year, and if the gameplay trailer is any indication of the final game, we might finally get an Alien game worth playing. More in line with Ridley Scott’s original Alien movie, Isolation ditches the shoot-em up formula of previous games and sticks to the survival horror story that made Alien such a huge hit in the first place. The new game takes place on a space station some time after the events of Alien, and players will be controlling Amanda Ripley, Ellen Ripley’s daughter. Not much else has been released about the game, but from what I can tell Sega is clearly going for a ‘scare the crap out of you’ experience. I just hope this isn’t another case of an Alien game that looks great, but ends up being little more then a empty exploded chest cavity. But I’m keeping my fingers crossed(and a flamethrower handy), that this could be the Alien story and game we’ve long been waiting for. Check out the trailer and let us know what you think? Will you be lining up to get your chance to go xeno hunting, or is this just gonna be another in a long line of Alien disappointments!!
Alien: Isolation will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3,and PC late in 2014
