Spoilers, AHOY!

The season 5 finale for Adventure Time closes on the biggest “Oh snap, grab your butts” moment. I’ll get to that in a bit. First, let’s talk about Billy’s Bucket List

Seriously, here is his bucket list:

  • PUNCH THAT JERKY CAMEL
  • TO DRAW ON A COMPUTER
  • BEAT THE LICH
  • DRINK SEA LION MILK
  • MAKE SOME KOMBUCHA
  • MAKE A WEBSITE
  • LEARN HOW TO PLAY FLUTE
  • TELL FINN THAT THING
  • TAKE CANYON ON ONE LAST RIDE
  • **FLOAT IN THE OCEAN

“Ok, that is going to bother me forever.” Is a pretty good line for Finns reaction to him being on Billy’s list. Which brings me to the revelation at the end of the episode. Yeah, I’m just going to straight up jump to the very end. Finn’s Human father is trapped in the Crystal Citadel! What the butt! The Crystal Citaldel is in the multiverse according to the Adventure Time wiki: The Crystal Citadel is a universe that has held the most dangerous criminals of the Multiverse for eons. It is very easy to enter, but nearly impossible to escape due to the strange, spacial physics of the dimension. It is also one of the most accessed universes.

Why is Finn’s dad trapped there? Was he a super awesome warrior kicking bad guys in the face? Or was he eviiiiil? We’ll have to wait until Season 6 starts up to find out, hopefully they don’t leave us hanging for too long.

Thankfully, we only have to wait…a month for Season 6 to start!

To me, it seems the episode was mostly filler up until that point. Yeah, Finn trying to float in the ocean was a little symbolic, especially after he couldn’t go in at first in his undies. Fear Fester coming out of his belly button and taunting Finn. Then Finn knocking himself out with a board at the end of the dock so that he could fulfill Billy’s last thing on the list. I’m totally digging the grass blade, which we know is pretty magical enough to kill the Fear Fester (That can’t be harmed by mortal weapons). I loved the light fun and overall spirit of this episode, it was a perfect closure to a terrific season 5 of Adventure Time.

Also, here is a storyboard of the whole episode (Courtesy of the Adventure Time staff) I’d never really looked at these before, but now that I know they are available I’m so going to start checking them out – After the episodes of course. I don’t like spoilers.
